FutureIcons traveled to HNB Garhwal University in association with Uttarakhand Association North America (UANA) for organizing Entrepreneurship Development Program. The participants were the students of the university and the locals of the hilly region. The 6-day program not only generated awareness about Entrepreneurship but also invited eminent People to discuss the same. Dr. Anil Joshi discussed the scope of agriculture entrepreneurship and Mr. Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Assistant Director, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) joined us and enlightened the students about various benefits that they, as young entrepreneurs, can derive from the institution and the important policies and procedures that they should be aware of for their growth. He discussed the procedure through which young entrepreneurs can obtain soft loans from the program. students visited Dr. Joshi’s farms at Maletha to get more exposure to what they had learned. They learned the historic significance of Maletha and the story of Madhav Singh Bhandari and his sacrifice. It is correctly marked by the Chinese Proverb I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand. The visit not only aroused curiosity some students were able to talk to their parents to grow mulberry and discussed it with us the following day. It was not the usual last day of the workshop. The last day of The workshop was Product Laund Day which was the first day of their start-up. They participated in the fair and sold the products like a businessman. The chief guest of the day was the Finance Officer of HNB Garhwal University Mr. Mishra who was thrilled to see the fair and expressed his willingness to organize more and bigger such fairs in the university.
